Literature

The awards for this year’s Literature competitions were presented as part of the Mòd Literature Day, which took place on Wednesday 16 October in Oban. Prizes are awarded each year for a range of literary competitions for children and adults.

The most prestigious of the literature prizes to be awarded is the historic Bard of An Comunn Gàidhealach which this year was bestowed upon Scottish academic, poet and short story writer Meg Bateman.

Congratulations to all of this year’s prize-winners - art entries can be viewed in the PDFs linked below - and thanks to all who took part in this year’s competitions.

A full list of results from all of this year’s Mòd competitions are available to view here (scroll down to Wednesday for literature). Our grateful thanks to all our supporters for this year’s Mòd Literature Day: SQA, The Gaelic Books Council, Bòrd na Gàidhlig and The Learned Kindred of Currie.

In the video are some thoughts from some of those who are involved with Gaelic literature, thank you all for sharing these with us!
