Chief Executive of An Comunn Gàidhealach

James Graham

Chief Executive Officer, James Graham graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Traditional Scottish Music from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. He has travelled all over the world performing as a musician and has appeared in several successful and award-winning television and radio music series including the award winning ‘Transatlantic Sessions 4’. In 2004 he won the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year award and in 2007 won the prestigious Mòd Gold Medal. He worked for two years for Falkirk Council as an Events officer, organising, and delivering major events in the Local Authority Area and has extensive event management experience. He has worked with An Comunn Gàidhealach since 2010, previously as Mòd Manager.

Mòd Officer

Seonag

Seonag Anderson is Administrator for An Comunn Gàidhealach and her main roles consist of clerical and secretarial work including overall responsibility for managing competition entries for the Mòd. Seonag has been employed by An Comunn Gàidhealach for ten years and is heavily involved in other Gaelic language initiatives in her spare time. Her main duties also include managing An Comunn Gàidhealach’s membership administration and support in the administration and up-keep of our social media sites and websites.

Coinneach Combe
Digital Communications & Events officer

Coinneach Combe

Coinneach was born and brought up in Renfrewshire. He has very strong connections to the greater Glasgow Gaelic community in addition to links with the Isle of Lewis. Coinneach graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2002 with a Computer Studies degree and also spent a year at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig where he completed the Cert HE Gaelic with Communication course. Coinneach is a computing expert as well as experienced in Gaelic development. He has previously worked for Comunn na Gàidhlig and as a secondary school teacher. Coinneach was part of the team that developed the IndyLan language learning and culture app. He also plays tenor drum with Kilbarchan Pipe Band and is a member of the ClannGàidhlig voluntary community group.

Local Mòd Officer

Fiona Mackenzie

Fiona J. Mackenzie, the ACG Local Mòd Officer, is a graduate of Aberdeen University in Scottish History and Music and postgraduate of the University of the West of Scotland where she undertook her Masters in Gaelic Songwriting & Performance. She has worked as a Gaelic song researcher and creative practitioner for 25 years and won the An Comunn Gàidhealach Gold Medal in 2005. She records on the Greentrax label, with whom she has recently released her album based on the Canna House Gaelic Archives, “Tac an Teine”. Fiona is proud to be responsible for supporting the network of Local Mòds throughout Scotland and assisting with the development of new Mòds in areas where there is currently no Mòd provision.

Peigi

Peigi MacLennan is An Comunn Gàidhealach’s Company Secretary and Office Manager and supports our Chief Executive Officer in managing the company’s financial affairs. She graduated from the University of the Highlands & Islands with a degree in Gaelic Language and Culture and has worked at An Comunn Gàidhealach since 1999. Peigi is a Board Member of Acair Books Publishers and is Chair of Fèis Eilean an Fhraoich on the Isle of Lewis. Peigi’s main duties include supporting the An Comunn Board of Directors, budget management and financial matters and company administration.

Marina MacKay
Mòd Officer (part-time)

Marina

Marina MacKay graduated from Aberdeen University with an MA degree in Gaelic Studies in 2004 and has been employed by An Comunn Gàidhealach since then. Her duties include developing and promoting competitive aspects of the Mòd, especially with regards to Gaelic literature events. Marina is also heavily involved in the organisation’s marketing work and produces our monthly newsletter as well as being the main administrator of our social media sites and website. She is a committee member of Fèis Eilean an Fhraoich on the Isle of Lewis.
