Pan Celtic Festival

Published: 27 Apr 2009

Another fantastic Pan Celtic festival was held recently in Donegal Town, Ireland with representatives from the 6 Celtic Nations gathering together for a week of music and merriment. Scotland again enjoyed competitive success with Raymond Bremner winning the Traditional Singing competition and Atomic Piseag being awarded 1st place in the female choral section. 2nd place success was also enjoyed by Oran Ur do Mhuile, Balaich na h-Alba and Taynuilt Gaelic Choir in their respective sections. Also attending the festival was Ailean Domhnallach, the 2008 Mod Traditional Medalist and John Morrision, Chief Executive of An Comunn Gaidhealach who quoted, “The Pan Celtic was an extremely enjoyable experience. We were blessed with glorious weather and the Scottish contingent was in fine voice. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and I look forward to co-operating with the organisers to develop future festivals.

The 2010 festival will be held in Dingle, Co. Kerry for the 1st time in it’s history, see their official website for more details.
